Live blogging MAX 2008 sneak peak session
“Why not go all the way and also live blog the sneak peaks?”, Andrew asked me about an hour ago.
So yeah… Why not? :D
The sneak peaks start at 5:45pm PST, 2:45am CET
MAX San Francisco Keynote day 2 liveblog
Since we had lots of fun doing this yesterday and since you guys gave us some really nice feedback, Andrew and I decided to do this again today. The only difference is that we’ll be a bit better organized today. Ted Patrick hooked us up with front row seats so we can take better pictures.
The theme for the day 2 keynote is “Design, Develop, Deploy” and will be lead by Ben Forta, Director of Platform Evangelism. We have some really nice surprises lined up for you and I can’t wait to hear/read your reaction to them! The keynote starts at 10.30am PST, 7.30pm CET – use the sign-up feature below to get a reminder when it’s about to start…
Live blogging Day 2 keynote
Sometimes, I wake up with crazy ideas. Usually, I take a little more time executing these ideas but this morning was a bit different. One hour before the MAX keynote started, I started setting up the live blogging account and got Andrew on board.
For the day 2 keynote, we are going to be a little more organized ;-) For one, Ted is going to arrange front row seats, so we can take better pictures and I’ll bring a spare laptop in case one of our batteries run out.
Sadly, I can’t tell you anything about the content for tomorrow’s keynote but I can tell you that we’re gonna have some pretty cool surprises tomorrow! So if you don’t want to miss anything, why not sign up now and you’ll get a reminder when we’re about to start.
Meet the downloadable evangelist
Have you ever wished you had an evangelist by your side every day? Oh… Really? Now that’s just weird ;-) But seriously, it’s always a good thing to be able to tap in to someone’s brain when you get stuck on something or forgot about a component’s capabilities and properties. Or maybe you just want to browse the Flex component library to get an idea of its power and possibilities.

Enter the downloadable evangelist Tour de Flex, a really cool AIR application that showcases core Flex components, AIR capabilities, Flex data access (BlazeDS and LiveCycle Data Services), numerous coding techniques, cloud APIs, and a growing list of community-developed components, effects, skins, and more. There are currently 217 code samples in the application but since this is an AIR application, it’s obvious that we will be updating that with new samples on a regular basis.

Tour De Flex also comes with an Eclipse plugin that allows the various samples to be searched directly from an Eclipse view window.
If you are at MAX, come and find one of us (we’re wearing a Tour de Flex shirt today) to get one of the Tour De Flex USB sticks or go ahead and download it from http://flex.org/tour.
Kudos to Greg Wilson, Christophe Coenraets and James Ward who started this idea.
