Make money with Flash Lite development

Today, over 27 million users can install Flash applications on their mobile devices hassle-free. With the mobile packager and distributable player that we announced yesterday, you package your swf app together with a Flash version checker. The result is one SIS (for S60) or one CAB (for Windows Mobile) file. This is the type of file that people are used to installing on their mobile device. When the user installs the app and launches it, the Flash version checker will check if the correct version of Flash Lite is installed. If not, it will prompt the user to download and install Flash Lite. This is very similar to the seamless experience people are used to on the web!
Monetizing your Flash Lite applications has also become a lot easier. Not only did we announce partnerships with various aggregating partners like ZED, Thumbplay and GetJar, but you can now also distribute your applications through the Nokia Ovi Store and the Windows Mobile application store.
We have also announced the Flash Lite Developer Challenge at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. With $100.000 in cash prizes, why wouldn’t you try your luck?!

Cool Serge! Can we dump our content in the different stores via Adobe’s Mobile packager or does it only make a sis of cab file and do we need to get it in the stores ourselfes?
greets Thomas
For now, this is a manual process. But if you give the packager a spin, you will see that this option is coming.
Hi, will it be possible to create mobile apps using the Actionscript project in Flex builder, I’m a Flex developer not a Flash developer (even though I think do Flex and Flash are soon to be just Flash Platform Developers) I’d like to work with mobile but using Flex Builder.
Hi Stephen,
For now, you can only build applications using ActionScript 2.0. Flex Builder is strictly AS3.0 only.
It’s a very good news but unfortunatly we’re far to make money as easily as with ‘web’ Flash.
A lot of aggregators need signed packages and the cost for certificates makes it difficult for individuals…
I understand the security behind signed packages….but it’s really a break to the growth of releases.
I hope it will evolve in the future…right now, unsigned package, raw swf and NFL are our only hope :(
ZOMG this is amazing. Mobil flash development is like… The reason for living.
