Are you a developer? Recently unemployed? Get Flex Builder 3 for free

adobe_flex_builder_s.jpgA few weeks ago, most of us on the Platform Evangelism team reached out to the developer community, offering free Adobe Flex Builder 3 licenses to unemployed developers so they can learn a new skill and raise their profile. Needless to say that we were swamped with email requests. Today, this is now a more formal offering, with information and access to the program available at https://freeriatools.adobe.com/learnflex/

To get you up and running with Flex in no time, Safari Books Online is offering a free 60-day subscription to a collection of books on Flex 3 and related RIA development technologies.

@questioning: Always nice to get anonymous comments like this. Anyway, this program is open to any developer who recently lost his/her job. Not just for Flash/Flex developers. We are doing this so unemployed developers can learn a new skill and thus raise their profile

Serge, don’t you just love anonymous naysayers? Perhaps your unnamed reader would be interested in knowing that …

A: The vast majority of the many hundreds who have already taken advantage of this offer have no Flex or Flash experience, and indeed, that’s the point, we want to help them get Flex experience to help them get jobs.

B: This is already working. The very first recipient of a copy from fellow evangelist Duane Nickull resulted in that recipient getting a job in Flex, and he did not know any Flex beforehand.

Bottom line, every day we hear from companies looking for Flex developers, and so if we can help out of work developers get jobs by learning Flex, and help or customers find Flex developers at the same time, well, it’s a big win-win.
