Recently the founders of Adobe Photoshop – John Knoll, Thomas Knoll, Russell Brown, and Steve Guttman – came back together to tell the story of how an amazing coincidence of circumstances, that came together at just the right time 20 years ago, spawned a cultural paradigm shift unparalleled in our lifetime.
There are a number of exciting activities going on around the world to celebrate this occasion and here are 3 things for you to do to join the celebration online:
- Photoshop 20th anniversary site: The site shows you all the innovations in Photoshop since version 1.
- Special Layer Tennis Match, Photoshop 20th Edition with commentary by John Nack.
- Photoshop 20th Celebration Tab on Facebook: Add it to your profile page, and share with friends and colleagues.
Happy birthday Photoshop!

20 years already, I didn’t expect Photoshop to be that old, probably because when I think of computers from that time “graphical design” doesn’t readily come to mind! 10 Million users are a lot especially when one takes into account the price that has to be paid for Photoshop. Anyway, Congrats PhotoShop.
What’s special is the fact that it’s everywhere even though you might not recognize it. Photoshop has revolutionarized the designworld. Designers do not even think about when they use Photopshop. Fun article.
