Video tutorial: Create native installers in AIR 2

One of the many exciting new features in AIR 2 is the ability to create native installers. That gives your AIR 2 application the ability to talk to native code. In this video I’ll show you how to build native installers for Adobe AIR 2 using the command line, and I also explore how my Package Assistant app simplifies that process. The Package Assistant that I’m using in the video is an older version and I think you’ll find that the current version is even easier to use.

Package Assistant is also available for Windows and you can create EXE files using that. For Linux you can use the command line to create BIN or RPM files.

Is it possible to customize those ‘native installers’? They don’t look to native right now..

What about updating native air2 applications? The updateFramework did not work successfully, because an Update errror occurs:

There was an error downloading the update. Error# 16822

    Did you have an Idea?

    Hello,

What about HTML based applications? Can I browse the HTML file instead of the SWF?

@Tibor: HTML based applications are currently not supported.
