You probably know Grant Skinner from all his amazing Flash work. Recently Grant has been experimenting a lot with HTML5 and he also worked on PiratesLoveDaisies.com, a tower defense game built with HTML5 and Javascript. At FITC in Amsterdam I asked him about his experiences with HTML5 and his thoughts on the HTML5 vs Flash “war”.

Video interview: Paul Gubbay on Adobe and HTML5

So… What has Adobe done so far for HTML5?
I asked Paul Gubbay – Adobe’s VP for product development for web, design and interactive – that very question.

Video interview: Tom Higgins, developer evangelist, Unity 3D

At last week’s FITC in Amsterdam I recorded a bunch of interviews. Over the next couple of days I’ll be posting these on my blog. The first interview is one with Unity 3D’s Tom Higgins. Tom is a developer evangelist at Unity 3D and actually used to work for Macromedia on Director… Small world ;-)

Behind the scenes of Fiat’s EcoDrive Adobe AIR application

A few weeks ago, Andrew Shorten and I talked to Fiat and AKQA about the Fiat EcoDrive AIR application. Find out why Fiat decided to make this application and how AKQA built it. See how this AIR application can save money for Fiat drivers and how the car is connected to it.

Interested in building your own AIR application? Then check out these applications used by AKQA to build the EcoDrive application:

Do you have a cool Flex or AIR application that we should highlight in a future video – if so, please get in touch.

Developer interview: Benjamin Dobler

Just a few days ago, I had a chance to hang out with Benjamin Dobler (http://www.richapps.de). If you don’t know Benjamin (or Benz as his friends call him), he’s the guy that does amazing stuff with ByteArrays of which the RichFLV AIR application is a perfect example. He also recently launched a beta version of Parleys.com. Parleys is a Belgian Java UserGroup initiative. It currently holds some 200 hours of Java oriented presentations.

Anyways… I recorded a video interview with Benz so just watch the video and it will become clear how much cool stuff he’s working on.

Go check out the video interview at http://kitchencast.blip.tv/ and while you’re there and if you haven’t done so, go ahead and subscribe to the RSS-feed in either Miro, iTunes or the Adobe Media Player. That’s right… The Blip TV feed is AMP-ready! The next interview is already scheduled and will be online somewhere mid february.
