MAX Wrap Up

Wow… I can’t believe that around this time exactly a week ago we were partying at the MAX Bash. Well… The MAX Bash was already over and we continued the party in the hotel bar ;-) Now… Where do I start…? Did I not tell you that this was going to be the best MAX ever? Even on a personal level this one is going to be hard to top. I mean… It was already pretty amazing to be on stage welcoming everybody for the day 1 keynote while Joa Ebert was coding and Eric Natzke was making some amazing art behind me.

Backstage MAX Online was already in full swing. Joining Ryan Stewart in hosting MAX Online was also a lot of fun and meeting/interviewing Martha Stewart is also going to be hard to beat.

Then my live intervention from the Device Lab in the day 1 keynote and hosting the Iron Builder segment in day 2…

And later that night meeting William Shatner… (I owe you one Nicole!)

I’m telling ya… It’s going to be hard to top this next year.

And then I haven’t even started about the amazing things we talked about in the keynotes and sneaks, the lovely people I met, winning the “Are You Smarter Than An Evangelist” contest with my evangelist colleagues, the new technologies that launched at MAX, … The AIR team has a great overview of AIR related announcements. You should also check Adobe Labs for more things to start playing with. My favorites are the preview releases of Flash Builder “Burrito” with Flex “Hero” and Flash Catalyst “Panini” as well as the first ever public demo of the BlackBerry PlayBook and the sneak peek of the upcoming 3D capabilities in Flash Player.

MAX will be back in Los Angeles on October 1st to 5th 2011. You better mark that in your calendar so you don’t miss it next year! I hear you can get very cheap airline tickets if you book well in advance ;-)

Adobe MAX – Are you smarter than a Flash evangelist?

I’m not entirely sure how I got tricked in to this… We are so going to get our behinds kicked ;-) but I’m sure it will be a lot of fun!

On Day 2 of this year’s MAX, on the community pavilion stage, we’ll be hosting a game show that pits 4 experts from the greater Flash community against 4 Adobe Flash evangelists. We’re calling the game “Are You Smarter than a Flash Evangelist?” and right now we’re taking your questions (and answers) to make this a quality, “infotaining” event. Got a Q/A that will flummox our contestants? Send it to us: [email protected]. Can be multiple choice, single answer, techy or not so techy. The more the better.

SO WHEN IS THE GAME?
Tues Oct 26 at 4.30pm PT – MAX Pavilion stage, LACC

WHO IS PLAYING?
The Adobe team: Lee BrimelowRyan StewartMichael Chaize and Serge Jespers

The MWC 2010 Flash Challenge

At the recent Mobile World Congress my colleagues gave me a map… and 10 minutes to find all Flash-enabled devices at Mobile World Congress 2010. You should know that there is 65.000 square meters of exhibition space at MWC and there are over 1300 exhibitors. You also need to navigate between over 50.000 attendees. I’m sure you get the idea… This was not an easy challenge… But… I’m always up for a challenge… So here’s the video…

Mobile World Congress is a wrap!

Wow… I can’t believe it’s Thursday already… and that today was the last day of Mobile World Congress. The news of Flash Player 10.1 and AIR coming to mobile devices really resonated across the exhibition floor. It was amazing to see how many device manufacturers are supporting Flash Player and AIR. Just about all of them even showcased it on their booth. I saw numerous Flash Player/AIR logos all over the exhibition floor. I actually recorded a video this afternoon where I try and find as many Flash enabled devices as I possibly could… I think you’ll like the outcome of this video. It will be available on Adobe TV soon. Why not subscribe to the RSS feed of the “Adobe at Mobile World Congress” page on Adobe TV? There are already a ton of really cool videos on it and we have more to come very soon.

The highlight of the week was definitely Eric Schmidt’s (Google’s CEO) keynote presentation with Eric Tseng (Senior Product Manager for Android) demoing Flash Player 10.1. If you haven’t seen the video yet, make sure you check it out!

We’ve also posted a little over 200 photos on our Photoshop.com page. They were taken by the Adobe MWC team throughout the week so there may be a few duplicates. If you didn’t make it to Barcelona this year, this will give you a little taste of MWC 2010.

Muchos gracias por su hospitalidad, Barcelona! See you next year!
