Multi-screen development session at Flash On The Beach
by Serge Jespers on 08. Jul, 2009 in Events, Flash Platform, devices, mobile

Although Flash On The Beach is only 4 years old this year, it has already become a highlight in the Flash community. There something about FOTB that makes this one of the “must-go” conferences of the year. And it seems to be growing year after year!
This is going to be the first year that I’m actually doing a session at FOTB. “I’d better come up with an appealing session”, was my first thought when I got accepted as a speaker. After all, I am sharing the billboard with Flash rock stars like Keith Peters, Mario Klingemann, Mike Jones, Grant Skinner, Joa Ebert, Colin Moock and many more.
But… I think I have an interesting session lined up. With multi-screen development becoming increasingly important, I thought it was a good idea to do a session about that. Even more so because we have some interesting announcements lined up around the MAX timeframe which coincidentally happens to be just 2 weeks after FOTB… So… I’ll show you how to build an application that runs on multiple screens sharing the same code-base and using the capabilities available in the different runtimes.
Can you read between the lines…? “Same code-base across the different runtimes…” Anyone? ;-)
Early bird pricing for FOTB ends on July 24th and FOTB did sell out the last 2 years… So… What are you waiting for? See you in Brighton!

FOTB’s John Davey has gone nuts! FOTB Miami tickets at $99!
by Serge Jespers on 12. Jan, 2009 in Events
I always thought Flash On The Beach’s John Davey was a certified nut job and today he finally confirms it ;-)
The next 48 hours, you can get a full three day conference pass for Flash On The Beach Miami for only $99 (instead of $359)! This has to be the craziest conference promotion to date. Just use promocode RSKNUTS1 when you purchase your tickets. But remember, this promotion only lasts 48 hours so it’s ending at midnight PST on Wednesday 14th January!
See you in Miami! Vemos en Miami!
Flash On South Beach / Flash On The Beach Miami

I’ve always found FOTB to be a really relaxed event and I particularly like the “Inspired sessions” where you can just kick back with a nice cool beer and get inspired by speakers like Eric Natzke and Joshua Davis. Flash On The Beach is not only about Flash. The sessions range from usability to Flex and from AIR to After Effects. If there is one conference you get to go to in the spring, make sure it’s FOTB! Early bird tickets are still available, so get your tickets now! Hope to see you there!

FOTB is sold out! Get the last tickets here… for free!
by Serge Jespers on 11. Sep, 2008 in Contest, Events
Flash On The Beach is now just 2 weeks away and is also officially sold out. If you were too late in getting your tickets, this is your last chance to get one… for free!
The only thing you have to do is get a little creative! A couple of weeks ago, Adobe’s European platform evangelist team launched this contest. Although the deadline was officially last week, we want to give you guys a little bit more time to get creative and win your ticket for FOTB especially since it’s now sold out and these are the last available tickets out there. So we’re extending the deadline until Wednesday September 17, 1pm CET. That same afternoon we’ll announce the winners.
I got to tell you that the competition is already pretty strong. So get creative and see you at Flash On The Beach!
Photoshop your way to Flash On The Beach
by Serge Jespers on 18. Aug, 2008 in Contest, Events
Flash On The Beach is only 5 weeks and 5 days away and (as always) the community is really buzzing about the impressive speaker list that includes Flash-rockstars like Erik Natzke, Grant Skinner, Joa Ebert and Branden Hall to name a few. Like last year, FOTB is likely going to sell out a few weeks before the event and if you didn’t get your tickets yet, you might want to hurry and get them now. AND/OR you may want to take your chance and enter this competition.
The European platform evangelism team is giving away 6 (in total) conference passes (a £499/€633 value) to Flash On The Beach 08. The only thing you have to do is get creative! Photograph or Photoshop yourself on the beach showing off your love for Flash, Flex, AIR, ColdFusion, … Upload your creation here before September 8, 2008 and each of us will pick our favorite entry. That person wins a full pass to Flash On The Beach 08. We will announce the winners on our blogs on September 12th! (more…)
